Program Manager

Status: Full-Time l Location: Knoxville, TN

Position Overview:  The Project Manager is the single point of responsibility and accountability for assigned Projects.  Starting with the Project Turnover Meeting and ending with a successful Certificate of Completion (COC), Customer Survey and hand-off to the Service Department. Each Project Manager will deliver professionally installed systems, on time and under budget, resulting in long-term service maintenance relationships.

Primary Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives in AV preferred including, but not limited to: contractual, technical, schedule, construction coordination, materials, personnel, and scope of work
  • Create and manage overall project schedule, including the successful completion of determined milestones
  • Responsible for the financial performance of each project from a labor, programming, materials and travel perspective
  • Lead all communication for a project including but limited to:
    • Single point-of-contact for each project; interfacing with the external client and internal stakeholders continuously
    • Developing and maintaining the necessary relationships for each project including but not limited to client representatives, contractor representatives, managers, engineers and installers
    • Ongoing and fully documented communications between clients, contractor reps, consultants, other trades, installation teams and management
  • Manage mobilizing the necessary resources to meet each project’s requirements including but not limited to:
    • Securing, transporting and delivery, with client signature, of all equipment and hardware
    • The management of hardware requisition to the Project timeline/returns
    • Provide detailed work direction for Installers and Programmers for assigned Projects
    • Manage sub-contract work according to company policy
    • Align talent requirements with staff skillsets including contract labor
    • Confirming travel as necessary
    • Confirm that all projects comply with all Company policies, procedures, standards and conventions including all safety requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring project documentation is completed based on Project requirements
  • Ensure system training has been performed
  • Responsible for tracking labor and programing time to assigned Projects
  • Ensure assigned Projects are inspected for quality, enforcing company approved installation methods and techniques
  • Assure each system is built in accordance with installation drawings and that red lines are delivered back to the Design Engineer, in order to generate as-builts
  • Ensure and achieve the highest level of customer service for every project assigned
  • Obtain a customer satisfaction survey after closure of job
  • Regular and predictable attendance as scheduled
  • Work cooperatively with others

Secondary Job Duties:

  • Expected to provide management with instant notifications of potentially critical situations, implementing Risk Management assessments and strategies as needed
  • Provide accurate feedback to Installation Supervisor regarding the performance of installers assigned to projects
  • Handles other duties relative to the job as assigned by management
  • Leads Project Turnover Meeting with M3 Sales and Design members
  • Ensure Project Reports are generated or updated daily with status updates
  • Provide weekly customer project updates

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, control system programming/operation, digital and projection technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and task simultaneously
  • Patience, determination, discipline and maturity to manage projects, personnel and effectively handle stressful situations
  • Travel to various job sites as needed not expected to exceed 30% of time
  • Work hours and schedule may vary according to the needs of our customers
  • Ability to Project manage across all of M3’s discipline

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in engineering, installation or management of AV systems
  • ICT integrated systems a plus
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred
  • AVIXA CTS preferred, CTS-I certification strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with appropriate driving record

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to use a variety of tools
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to use computer for long periods of time
  • Be able to pass drug screen and background check
