New Solutions Making Conferencing & Communication Smooth-Sailing

As AV professionals, we know that a product is only as good as its real-world performance: how it supports your team, fits your environment, and makes day-to-day operations easier

This season, we’re keeping our eyes on a few standout product launches that promise to do just that, especially for corporate, healthcare, and higher education environments. Here’s a quick look at some tangible solutions making waves in the AV-over-IP and unified collaboration spaces.

Crestron’s New Switcher for Multiview & 5K

The DM NVX® 384 is the latest addition to Crestron’s DigitalMedia family and marks a new generation of AV-over-IP hardware. This encoder/decoder supports multi-input switching, USB-C connectivity, and up to 5K resolution for ultra-wide and super-wide displays. The result is a single box solution ready for everything from large-scale presentation environments to hybrid meeting rooms and digital signage.

Where the DM NVX 384 really impresses is in the new Multiview feature, which will be available via a free firmware update. Multiview allows up to six video sources to be displayed simultaneously on one screen. Whether it’s a control center, university lecture hall, or a hospitality venue with multiple feeds, this capability eliminates the need for separate video processors or displays.

From 21:9 hybrid meeting formats to 32:9 command center displays, the unit’s support for multiple resolutions (in full 5K) is built for today’s high-performance environments. The box also includes robust USB-C connectivity, a major plus for modern workplaces where laptops and tablets are the primary source devices.

Crestron’s AirMedia Connect Endpoint: Wired + Wireless Content Sharing

Crestron’s new AirMedia® Connect Endpoint builds on the success of the AirMedia Connect Adaptor by offering more flexibility in how content is shared.

Designed for modern meeting and learning spaces, the Endpoint introduces a wired option via USB-C, in addition to the platform’s existing wireless capabilities. It also brings a compact, versatile design that’s easy to deploy across a range of room types.

This is a plug-and-play solution: users can walk into a room, connect via USB-C or wirelessly, and start presenting or conferencing from their own device. It supports content sharing, video conferencing, and even digital signage, giving it a useful role outside of meeting times.

The added wired connectivity is especially useful in locations with unpredictable Wi-Fi performance or where a consistent connection is critical.

Yealink A50: Video Bar for BYOD & Small Spaces

As hybrid meetings become the norm, organizations are asking more from their collaboration tools, especially in smaller huddle rooms and private offices. The Yealink A50 delivers with a compact footprint and robust performance.

The A50 offers a single cable connection to the touch panel at the table. This connection delivers the room peripherals to the laptop for not just BYOD (screen sharing) but BYOM (Bring your own laptop to host the meeting). This single cable also brings device charging and network connectivity to the laptop. The A50 bar itself has a range nearly 2x what a typical bar can cover.
